Interior renovation work has begun for a new 11,000-square-foot Dollar Tree store within the Mallard Crossing Shopping Center on the west side of Elk Grove Village, officials said.
The store is next to the Ross Dress for Less clothing outlet and Aldi grocery store — each at about 22,000 square feet — that opened last year on the northeast corner of Nerge and Meacham roads. They replaced the former Food 4 Less grocery store.
McDonald’s also opened its new location in an outlot of the shopping center, replacing its old restaurant location down the block on Meacham. That former McDonald’s and a smaller former Aldi — which relocated to Mallard Crossing — remain vacant.
