Univision Communications Inc. and T-Mobile U.S. Inc. created the new wireless service to address unique needs in the U.S. Hispanic mobile market.
“Hispanic Americans are among the largest, most important and most influential groups in the U.S. today,” said Mike Sievert, chief marketing officer for T-Mobile. “They deserve wireless tailored to their interests and needs. Univision Mobile is a completely unique wireless experience built to provide Hispanic Americans with both the content and mobile experience they crave from two brands they know and trust,” said Sievert.
All Univision Mobile plans include unlimited international texting to over 200 countries and 100 calling minutes to mobile or landlines in eight Latin American countries: Mexico, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Peru, Venezuela, Panama, Costa Rica and Chile.
Pricing begins at $30 to $55 per month, including unlimited nationwide talk, text and various levels of data.
For an additional $10 per month customers can add either a “Mas Mexico Connect” or an “Unlimited International Talk” plan. The former includes unlimited calls to landlines and 1,000 minutes to mobile numbers in Mexico, while the latter includes unlimited calls to landlines in over 70 countries and discounts on rates to mobile numbers.
The no-contract Univision Mobile plans are available nationally at 1,800 Wal-Mart stores and over 6,000 independent dealers in Hispanic communities. Customers can bring their own devices. Sim cards, phones, and plans are also available at Univisionmobile.com.
