Ixtapa Zihuatanejo

Twice As Pleasing
Located in the northwestern region of the State of Guerrero, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo is set against the green backdrop of the sheltering Sierra Madre del Sur mountains, in an area that runs along some 17 miles of scenic coastline with sandy beaches, quiet lagoons, scalloped coves, rocky bluffs and offshore islets. It has an exceptional climate of more than 330 sunny days a year and a 82 degree F average temperature.
Although many syllables confirm its name, learn how to pronounce it
correctly, it’s: “eeks-tah-pa-see-wah-tah-ne-ho.”

Zihuatanejo, a fishing port for centuries, embraced by Zihuatanejo Bay, retains its old-Mexico charm. Just ten minutes up the coast, Ixtapa is a modern world-class resort. Together they comprise one tropical destination that is indeed twice as pleasing.
Most Ixtapa hotels are located in the Hotel Zone along Palmar Beach (just across the avenue from the village-like shopping “plazas”). One major hotel is nearby on its own cove, and three others are just up the coast at Playa Linda. Zihuatanejo hotels are smaller. They range from economy to grand luxury properties situated on La Ropa Beach or overlooking the Bay.

Twice the Leisure

Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo is the perfect place for the whole family to enjoy magical beaches, beginning with the little ones playing in the sand to the parents relaxing with the beautiful view and the sea breeze. Adrenaline runs through all the activities like snorkeling, sealing or kayaking in any of the beautiful exciting beaches. In Ixtapa: Playa El Palmar, Playa Quieta and Playa Linda and in Zihuatanejo: Playa Principal, Playa La Madera, Playa La Ropa and Playa Las Gatas. You can also visit the nearby beaches that stand all along the bay, like Playa Larga, Barra de Potosi, Loma Bonita and La Saladita.

The Costa Grande archaeological Museum in Zihuatanejo puts on display the most important details from the culture and history of the ethnic groups that settle in Zihuatanejo and Costa Grande, as well as the most important testimonies of the ancient settlers.
Magic World’s water park and the Delfiniti Dolphin’s Aquarium can offer unforgettable moments with the whole family. Magic World will also make children happy with its huge amount of swimming pools, rides and a pirate ship where they can play for hours.  At the Delfiniti, you can have fun with dolphins while swimming with them.

Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo has different summer activities for kids so they can enjoy their vacations by playing games in the sand, watching great variety shows and partaking in ecological and cultural activities. The whole family will enjoy an unforgettable moment when small turtles are released into nature.

Twice the Passion

Live out the experience of a pro-golfer or just as a fan of the game by playing in the magnificent golf greens.
The Marina Golf Course is the ideal place to spend hours of entertainment through its 18 holes where the sand, water traps and undulated greens will expand this great experience. To complete it all, the serpentine canals that surround it provide a magnificent nautical recreation and allow traveling through the private villas of La Marina y el Clubhouse.
In the Palma Real Golf Course you can find one of the best golf courses in the world at harmony with nature, all surrounded by coconut plantations and the tropical forest of the Pacific coast, as well as natural lagoons and the breathtaking Sierra Madre del Sur.
