[dropcap]F[/dropcap]estival Cubano announced the lineup for the sixth annual edition of the fastest growing Latino music festival in the city and the Midwest on Tuesday. This year’s headliners include Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Luis Enrique, former Los Van Van vocalist Pedrito Calvo, sonero and former Celia Cruz band leader Jose Alberto “EI Canario”, and Latin Billboardaward winning salsa and freestyle vocalist Brenda K. Starr.

The Sixth Annual Festival Cubano Presented by Corona, McDonalds and 30th Ward Alderman Ariel E. Reboyras will be held from Aug. 14 through Aug. 16 in beautiful Riis Park at intersection of Fullerton Avenue and Narragansett.

“After last year’s successful celebration of our fifth anniversary, we found ourselves in the challenging position of figuring out how to top last year’s brilliant performances by headliners EI Gran Combo, PALO! and Rey Ruiz. I strongly believe this sixth edition is shaping up to be one of our best yet,” said Festival Cubano Director and Founder George Herrera. “No one has defined the swagger, the excitement and vibrancy of contemporary Cuban music better than Pedrito Calvo. Luis Enrique has long been a favorite among Cubans, Cuban-Americans and salsa lovers worldwide.”

Besides music from Cuba and Latin America, the public will enjoy during the three-day event a wide variety of Cuban and Latin American dishes, arts & crafts booths, an expanded carnival area on a new location inside the park, a beer lounge and hand-rolled cigar bar, cooking demonstrations and cook-offs, a domino tournament, the popular Kids Zone, a health pavilion, music and dance workshops, school supplies giveaways and a classic car show, among other features.
