Eating healthy with Honey

A_Drinks_Laura-TerminiLaura Termini, a holistic nutritionist and life coach, partnered up with the National Honey Board to share all natural juice and smoothie recipes with honey. Termini has been seen in a lot of Spanish language shows and telenovelas. Her blog ChicaNOL focuses on the latest in natural, organic and Latina. Termini came to Chicago on April 11 to promote healthy eating with honey and juicing.

EXTRA: Why is honey such an important ingredient to be promoted?

Laura Termini: It is 100 percent natural. I promote a life without chemicals, pesticides and a natural way. You can give this to kids as well. The taste is amazing.

What juice recipes did you choose and why?

I did five juices with five beauty recipes for the Honey Board. They are launching their website in Spanish. They are my original recipes. I am happy because I had a chance to do beauty recipes as well – avocado and parsley. I did a hair mask with honey with an avocado that you can put on your hair.

How did you come up with the recipes?

I have been juicing for 10 years. I do testing. I did 10 days of fasting, only juicing, but I don’t recommend that for everybody. The green juice I do every day. I also recommend the one with apple and cereal and the one with avocado if you to the gym, before and after. Those are my five favorite juices.

Latinos in general don’t eat healthy foods. What advice would you give them to make their diet better?

I am not a fan in dieting. Buy local. I can assure you that those small changes are going to be a big change in your life.

What other great recipes can you do with honey?
Using honey for food recipes, not only desserts. I developed a beauty mask for hair, face, exfoliation with honey and other ingredients. You can be creative in your own way. Try to incorporate honey in beauty cosmetics.

What else are you doing?

I am an actress, producing documentaries, blogging. Most of the time I am traveling and blogging. When you are blogger, you are a specialist in social media as well. Brands know that we have the power to endorse products.

What would you like to say to the Latino readers?

I invite them to visit me on It is bilingual. I post every day. I have my own calendar about health, beauty. It’s about balance and that’s why I am a holistic practitioner.
