Crime Briefs: Food Truck Delivery Robberies in Logan Square

[dropcap]A[/dropcap] series of armed robberies targeting food delivery drivers have occurred in the Logan Square neighborhood.

Up to four men are suspected of robbing food trucks in the area. At press time four robberies have been reported in:

• The 3500 block of W. Mclean Avenue on Jan. 11 at 3:33 p.m.

• The 3500 block of W. Dickens Avenue on Jan. 14 2015 at 9:35 p.m.

• The 2000 block of N. Drake Avenue on Jan. 17 2015 at 9:15 p.m.

• The 3500 block of W. Shakespeare Avenue on Jan. 18 2015 at 9:00 p.m.

A few of the suspects are described as Hispanic men, being between 16 and 20-years-old, and five-foot-three to five-foot-ten. However one of the suspects is described as black male, between 16 and 25-years-old who wears all black clothing.

Police advise residents to be aware of their surroundings, and to pay special attention to suspicious people loitering. If possible, it is recommended to park in well lit areas. If confronted by an offender, residents should remain calm, comply with the offenders, and remember any unique descriptive features (i.e. scars, limp, acne, teeth, ect.) If approached by a witness, request contact information.

Victims should call 911 immediately to provide detailed descriptions of the offenders, including vehicle or license plate information and direction of flight.
