Delivery drivers robbed in Portage Park, Norwood Park

cpd[dropcap]D[/dropcap]elivery drivers have been robbed at gunpoint in the Portage Park and Norwood Park areas recently.

In an alert issued Monday police said the first robbery happened in the 4100 block of North Marmora Avenue on April 25 at 12:22 a.m. In this instance three people robbed the driver at gunpoint before fleeing the area, said police.

One of the suspects in this robbery is described as a Hispanic man between 18 and 25-years-old, standing 5-foot-8 and weighing 150 to 180 pounds, police said.

The second robbery happened in the 4900 block of North Normandy Avenue last Sunday at 1:50 a.m. In this second crime the driver told police “possibly one or five” suspects robbed him. In this robbery police said the suspects were last seen wearing dark sweatshirts and bandanas.

Police are asking businesses to alert other businesses of these robberies, pay special attention to suspicious people loitering in the area and to remain calm is confronted by an assailant.
