Crime Briefs: Businesses robbed at gunpoint in Albany Park

[dropcap]R[/dropcap]esidents and business owners in Albany Park are being warned of robberies happening in the neighborhood by police.

In both incidents the offender entered the business brandishing a chrome pistol and demanding money from the cash register.

The incidents occurred:

• In the 3300 block of N. Milwaukee Avenue on Jan. 25 at 9:14 p.m.
• In the 3300 block of N. Milwaukee Avenue on Jan. 29 at 9:07 p.m.

The offender is reportedly a while male, approximately 5-feet 7-inches tall, and around 170 pounds. In both incidents he’s described as having his faced covered up with a white scarf.

Police are advising business owners to be aware of these crimes and alert other businesses to them. Moreover, police are also advising them to make sure their business have a working video surveillance system.

In the event of another incident, residents are advised to call 911 immediately, and be prepared to provide a detailed physical description of the offender, vehicle description including license plate information, and the direction of flight if known.
