Crime Briefs: Business burglaries in Albany Park

Police[dropcap]P[/dropcap]olice are warning Albany Park business owners to be on the look out for a man burglarizing commercial properties.

The details of the offender are scarce, as the male suspect wears dark clothing with his face covered, police said.

The offender has robbed businesses at following four locations:

• In the 4500 Block of N Kedzie Avenue on Dec. 31 at 6:00 am.

• In the 4900 Block of N Kedzie Avenue on Jan. 8, at 1:30 am.

• In the 4900 Block of N Kedzie Avenue on Jan. 11, at 10:30 am.

• In the 4700 Block of N Kedzie Avenue on Jan. 13, at 5:15 am.

The offender has reportedly broken into the businesses by shattering the front glass door or window by using a brick or concrete block.

Business owners are advised to be aware of the burglaries to alert other business owners, while also making sure their commercial property is equipped with a working alarm and video surveillance system.

Both residents and business owners should call 911 immediately in the event of a burglary. Callers should prepare to give a detailed description of the offender(s) as well as vehicle description, license plate information and direction of flight, if known.
