[dropcap]P[/dropcap]olice are investigating three armed robberies that happened within a block of each other in Logan Square this month.

They all happened within the last two weeks, with the two most recent armed robberies happening within 17 minutes of each other. In all three robberies Area North detectives said a victim was approached by either a person or persons who displayed or implied they had a weapon before taking their property.

Police are describing the suspects as Black men between 18 and 30-years-old, standing about 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-1 and weighing between 150 to 180 pounds. In one of the robberies one of the suspects wore a black or blue hooded sweatshirt with pink lettering, blue jeans, a pair of beige construction boots and earrings on both ears.

The first armed robbery happened in the 3000 block of W. Schubert Avenue on March 14 at 10:30 p.m. The second armed robbery happened last Sunday at 12:25 a.m. on the same block as the first. About 17 minutes after the second armed robbery last Sunday a third one happened in the 2900 block of W. Schubert Avenue.

Police are asking residents to be aware of their surroundings and to pay special attention to suspicious people loitering in the area and to report them to police. If confronted by an offender, remain calm and comply and call 911 immediately afterwards to provide a detailed description of the suspect.

Anyone with information about these armed robberies should call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
