The Chicago Cubs acted early Wednesday and postponed the afternoon game against the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field because of expected bad weather.
The game will be made up Thursday at 1:20 p.m. This is the Cubs’ fourth postponement at Wrigley Field already this season and their fifth overall. Monday’s series opener against the Cardinals was called off, and Tuesday’s game was played with a 35-degree gametime temperature and 29-degree windchill. Rain is expected Wednesday afternoon, and there is a chance of it being mixed with snow.
Jon Lester, Wednesday’s scheduled starting pitcher, will pitch in Thursday’s makeup.
