Childress joins Chicago Bears to complete Nagy's staff

The Bears have officially announced Matt Nagy’s complete coaching staff for the 2018 season, including all of defensive coordinator Vic Fangio’s assistants, whose return was assumed but never previously confirmed.

The returnees include defensive backs coach Ed Donatell, assistant defensive backs coach Roy Anderson, linebackers coach Glenn Pires, outside linebackers coach Brandon Staley, defensive line coach Jay Rodgers and defensive quality control coach Sean Desai. Bill Shuey has been added as an additional defensive quality control coach.

In addition, Brad Childress was confirmed as the Bears’ senior offensive consultant. Childress, a native of Aurora with nearly 40 years of experience in the college and NFL coaching ranks, shared the offensive coordinator role with Nagy in 2016 in Kansas City and was on the Chiefs’ staff last year.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, right, relied on co-offensive coordinator Brad Childress, left, and Matt Nagy to help run his offense. Childress has joined Nagy's staff with the Bears.
